Data Centers
Security, speed, and adaptability are key elements in a successful online backup environment. FireVault has built our own Hosting infrastructure from the ground up selecting only backup appliances, servers, and data recovery software that stand up to our high standards.

FireVault has a co-located suite at The Planet in Dallas, Texas. The Planet is a state-of-the-art data center atop 78,000 square feet of raised flooring. The center provides complete redundancy in power, HVAC, fire suppression, network connectivity and security.

The facility is driven by TXU electric with PowerWare UPS battery backups and dual diesel generators onsite. The Planet's Data Aire condenser HVAC platform provides redundancy in cooling. Fire suppression includes a pre-action dry pipe system including VESDA (Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus) with over 700 smoke detectors in the facility.

The network architecture employs Enterprise routing and switching engines from Juniper and Cisco. Juniper M20 routers are used as border routers. There are Cisco 6500 series switches in the distribution layer, Cisco 6500 switches in our aggregation layers, and Cisco 3500 and 2900 series switches at the customer layer. The network is fully meshed and redundant with 11 backbone providers.

In addition to our primary data backup center, FireVault has established a redundant replication facility inside our offices. We are equipped with a fiber connection enabling us to quickly transfer, store, or retrieve your encrypted files in the event our data center sustains a fatal disaster. This level of replication comes standard with all FireVault's offsite backup and data recovery solutions.
